ebm Werke, Germany, later to be known as ebm-papst, the world leader in the manufacture of fans incorporating the unique external rotor motor concept, entered the Indian Market in 1985 through a distribution setup with Nadi Airtechnics Pvt. Ltd., Chennai.

Soon, the sale of these high quality fans grew exponentially and ebm joined hands with the Kamdar family to substantially increase its commitment to the Indian market in 1996, through a Joint Venture named ebm-Nadi International Pvt. Ltd. A state-of-the-art production facility set up in Chennai, India commenced production in March 1996.
